Introducing Tom Duck

Hi! My name is Tom and having just graduated from Osteopathy at RMIT, I am proud to introduce myself as one of the newest members of the O-health team!

Before commencing my studies I grew up here in Albury, finishing Year 12 in 2013. I’m really excited to be back working in Albury; I did enjoy my time in Melbourne, but after 5 years I was definitely ready to leave the city. I enjoy helping others through hands on treatment and exercise advice, so naturally I feel really lucky to be involved in such an exciting new project in my hometown. I’m really looking forward to doing what I can to make our community healthier.

As an Osteopath, I have a fascination with pain and the science behind why we feel it. I am constantly amazed with the human body and the way that it is constantly adapting to whatever we throw at it. Despite graduating, I feel like I still have a lot to learn about the human body and O-health really feels like the place to be for me to apply and expand my knowledge. So far the team has been so welcoming, although things can get heated around the table tennis table!

Outside the treatment room you can find me out cycling, a passion that I have developed over the last couple of years. Albury has such a strong cycling culture and some of the best cycling destinations in Australia are right on the doorstep, so I am chomping at the bit to regularly ride on home roads. When I’m not cycling, I enjoy swimming and walking and I also have a growing collection of Vinyl records that I am always looking to add to. My musical interest stems from learning to play the guitar through my teenage years, and I still find one of the best ways to unwind is to play guitar in the evening before bed.

I’m really looking forward to meeting you all in the near future, if you see me out on the bike or elsewhere around town please don’t hesitate to say hello or give me a wave, and if you have any recommendations on records I should get my hands on, please send them my way!
