If you have been diagnosed with a muskuloskeletal condition, you are not alone!
Arthritis and Osteoporosis Victoria released a report in 2013 on the rising cost of musculoskeletal conditions within Australia. The report documents 6.1 million Australians currently live with various types of musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and back problems.
Most of these patients experience pain, discomfort and a loss of function associated with their arthritis. Our team at Osteohealth are highly experienced and effective in treating the pain and loss of function associated with these conditions. Until recently our treatment involved using our exceptional Osteopaths and Physiotherapists to assist with pain control. Since Corina joined us we’ve been able to add Pilates and Tai Chi classes to help control pain and improve quality of life.
Exercise is fundamental to controlling the impact that arthritis has on your daily life. The right exercise improves your flexibility, muscle strength and decreases your pain. The exercise must be gentle, controlled and regular. Tai Chi for Arthritis fits the bill perfectly. Developed by Paul Lam, a Sydney Physician and a team of medical experts including Rheumatologists and Physical Therapists, the program is easy to learn, safe, low impact and very effective for people with arthritis. We provide this program at Osteohealth.
Tai Chi for Arthritis is a fantastic program supported by Arthritis and Osteoporosis Victoria. It provides relief of symptoms associated with arthritis and promotes general well-being. If you, or someone you know, think that they may benefit from this program please give us a call and we can talk you through the details of this fantastic opportunity.
It is important to consult with your Health Care Practitioner in regards to the most appropriate management plan for your condition.
