We wanted to focus our final blog of the year on our team’s highlights!
It’s easy to get railroaded by the negatives of the year that was 2020.
Yes it was a tough and stressful year, there’s no denying that. But we also had some great memories and milestones to celebrate- even during a pandemic!
Please enjoy our team’s highlights from the year.
We hope this helps you to reflect on your own good memories from 2020.
Sheila
Walking 10km (or running for our overly enthusiastic O-health team members) in Nail Can for Albury’s Virtual RunWalk4BrainCancer was my highlight of 2020.
I always knew I had dedicated work mates, however I was particularly impressed with how many O-health team members started the run/walk at 8:45am and were still celebrating finishing it at 10pm!

As interrupted as 2020 has been for a lot of people, I have loved the year. I think perspective, gratefulness and wanting to see positives helps this. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first full time year at O-health, the people here are amazing to work with. I also bought Tom Barry’s old ute off him which brings me a lot of joy.
I think the highlight for me though would have to be my wife and I buying a block on acreage. Every time I think about it I get excited about building a house on it, a big shed, a nice garden and a few sheep. I’m also keen on having a decent backyard cricket setup.
I hope you have all had a great year, managed to slow down and enjoy the little things, and learned to see the positives in all of life’s situations.

My highlight of 2020 would be joining the amazing team at O-health. When you walk into our clinic, you can feel a positive team culture and I feel extremely lucky to be a part of it.
Our amazing patients, table tennis lunchtime matches and our mixed basketball comp are some of the highlights. I have enjoyed getting to know the O-health community and am proud to be part of a clinic that focuses on making a positive difference in people’s lives.
Lisa
SO many, but probably one that encompasses them all is the utilisation of the whole space that is O-health. The uptake from patients, staff and community. They have embraced our dream by using the spaces we have designed even better than we could have dreamed.
Nikola
My highlight was being a part of such a supportive work environment and team during this pandemic. It sounds a little cheesy, but when there was so much uncertainty earlier this year, it was pretty special to have this group to work through it together and make you laugh even in the most stressful times.
The border re-opening was another major highlight for me. This allowed me to travel further into VIC, to finally be reunited with my sisters!!
Tom Barry
There are too many highlights to mention, but we continually hear about the difference to people’s lives our team has made. The sense of community and inclusion that has been created by our team is extraordinary, and seeing the positive effect on our patient’s lives has been incredibly humbling and fulfilling. Our new space has allowed us to make a meaningful, long term improvement in people’s quality of life, and to see the real effect this has had on our community has been amazing.
Brant
The way that the team supported and looked after each other throughout the height of COVID madness. It was such a challenging time for so many of us, and the way that we took care of one another was special to be a part of.
Shez
My highlight for 2020 would be getting Eden and Mal on board to help us out on the front desk- we would be lost without them!
Also purchasing our block of land for hopefully our dream house!!
Pip
I think my number one highlight would definitely have to be getting married! Pretty hard to top that one and such an awesome way to break up lockdown 1.0 and 2.0
My second highlight would be the success of my lower limb and balance class. Seeing an amazing cohesion of a group of women who now have organised a Christmas breakup party and are adamantly intent on coming in during the holidays to keep their progress going. Definitely a wonderful reminder of the way that we make a difference to people in our work.
Ellen
Moving back to the Albury/Wodonga region and starting work at O-health. Oh and buying a block of land to build our new home.

2020 for sure has been a rollercoaster for me! At the start of the year I was chomping at the bit to get stuck into practice and finally put my time at University to use. Despite COVID-19, I feel that I have been extremely lucky to be in a clinic that is so supportive – which has allowed me to continue to learn and practice in my grad year.
My highlights for 2020 out of the clinic have been pushing my comfort zone and working hard on improving my running, which is something that I have really enjoyed. This has included running a half marathon in August. Another highlight has been completing a 7 and a half hour bike ride with Brant and Lisa on Zwift, during which we each accumulated half the height of Mt Everest! After such a great start to my clinical practice, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into 2021 and all the challenges and lessons that come with it!
Ellie
My number one highlight is joining the O-health team! Or maybe that time I got engaged…
Scott
The highlights of 2020 for me was starting at O-health in January before the world went crazy, and simply surviving 2020 during my first year out as an osteopath. Another was the return of my partner back to our home town after she was locked down for months in Melbourne.
Corina
My highlight would be congratulating all of our Pilates/Tai Chi/Group Exercise O-health family for your 2020 efforts, enthusiasm and commitment to health, despite such a challenging year (to say the least!).
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and I hope that 2021 (and beyond) brings health and happiness.
Jas
Making the move back to VIC and buying land to build. Also starting work at O-health!
Ross
Saving up a stack of annual leave is a (future) highlight for me. A year of lockdowns and travel restrictions in an essential worker role meant spending the time focusing on work and further study. 2020 has been a big lesson in delayed gratification for most of us, with the rewards hopefully coming in 2021.
Mallory
One of the best things that came from this crazy year was joining such an awesome team here at O-health. I have had so much fun at our events and playing basketball with the team.
Eden
2020 has been a massive year for all of us and the most challenging, but for me 2020 was a big year of personal growth.
I started here at O-health in August and my life changed for the better when I stepped foot into the doors of this wonderful O-community (as cheesy as that is).
Shortly before starting my new role, I moved out of home and began my ‘adult life’ and have worked hard towards my fitness, health and overall well being journey throughout 2020. I have felt a huge personal growth in these areas and I can’t wait to see what 2021 holds!
Jack
My highlight of 2020 was completing my Masters of Osteopathy and becoming a fully qualified Osteopath! This was quickly followed up with moving from Melbourne to the lovely Albury to work at O-health! I’m excited for what 2021 has to bring in this new chapter of my life.
Thank you to everyone for supporting O-health in what has been an interesting year for all. We couldn’t have gotten through it without all of you choosing us as your healthcare provider, so thank you.
We hope that you and your loved ones have a safe and Merry Christmas!
The O-health Team.
